If you're interested in the Twin Cities' literary community, MPR's Marianne Combs is hosting Talk of the Stacks at the Minneapolis Central Library with the executive directors from The Loft, Coffee House Press, Greywolf Press and Milkweed Editions. The event starts at 7:00 and is free, so come and find out what is going on in the literary community.

National Literacy Action Week is February 1-7, and St. Kate's America Reads Program is sponsoring a Literacy Volunteer Fair on Thursday February 4 from 11:30-1:00 at St. Kate's.

You can learn more about the Minnesota Literacy Council at a Power Hour on February 17 at 4:00 p.m. The Power Hour is for anyone wanting to learn more about how the Minnesota Literacy Council educates children and adults. Click here for more info about how to register.

On February 25 and 26, Pedro Noguera, NYU professor and author, is holding a lecture and discussion on racial inequality in schools at Macalester College. The topic is "Freedom to Learn:  Dismantling the School to Prison Pipeline". The lecture and discussion are on Feb. 25, the reception starts at 4:30 and the lecture starts at 6:30. The discussion is on Feb. 26 from noon to 1:30, all events are open to the public.
